Welcome Dr. Watkins!

We are excited to announce that Dr. John Watkins, board certified Radiation Oncologist, will be joining our team Bismarck Cancer Center once again!  Dr. Watkins originally worked at the Bismarck Cancer Center until 2014, when he joined his wife in Iowa where she was training in Pediatrics/Neonatology, after she graduated from the University of North Dakota.   

Dr. Watkins earned his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine (Indianapolis, IN) and completed his radiation oncology residency at Medical University of South Carolina (Charleston, SC).  He rejoins the Bismarck Cancer Center after working at the University Of Iowa Department Of Radiation Oncology.  He has previously practiced in South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Indiana as well.  Dr. Watkins is an active member of the American Medical Association, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Radiological Society of North America.  He has published over 40 peer-reviewed research studies and review articles in medical literature.  

Dr. Watkins welcomes new patients seeking radiation oncology care.  He accepts all cases including breast, prostate, lung, gynecologic (female cancers), pediatric, lung, head/neck (mouth, tongue, throat, voice box), stomach, colorectal, pancreatic, esophageal, brain, spinal cord, bladder, bone, sarcoma, lymphoma, and metastatic disease.
